I am a 29 year-old designer from St. Louis, Missouri. Codi is the name of my line of jewelry, which was derived from the first two letters of my first and middle name, Courtney Diane. It is uniquely distinguishing, fashion-forward costume jewelry.
I unintentionally stumbled upon my career in jewelry design in December of 1999. At the time, I was a twenty-one year old full-time student at Saint Louis University (my home town). I had just gotten out of school for a month for Christmas break and decided to keep busy by making myself some fun jewelry. Being the creative type, I strung some bracelets and necklaces together and sparkled around town in my creations. Everywhere I went people would constantly stop me and ask me where I had gotten my jewelry. I'd tell them that I had made it and they would immediately ask me for a business card. With a mindset that I had nothing to lose, I thought of a name for my custom-made jewelry and decided to go with it. I ripped through 500 cards in no time and from that point on, people began calling my house inquiring for the "jewelry girl."

My jewelry really sells itself, although every customer of mine is a walking advertisement. Word-of-mouth, articles, T.V. and radio interviews, and a small amount of advertising have all helped Codi become the business it is today. I use only the finest components in my designs which consist of Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls, mother-of-pearl, Bali beads (925 silver), and semi-precious stones (i.e. turquoise, onyx, amethyst, peridot, citrine, carneliam, aquamarine, garnet, moonstone, labradorite, iolite, etc.) As a picky and particular designer, I hand-make each individual piece to perfection myself. My line represents quality. It is affordable, unique, and fun. People like it because it is different than anything anyone has ever seen. The little sterling heart that dangles from the toggle of every piece, tags it as authentically, Codi. My slogan is, "funky for day, fancy for night," because the pieces are very versatile, you can dress them up or dress them down. Best of all, the jewelry is fun! You feel like havin' a good time when you wear a Codi piece. |

Most importantly, for me, I have found my passion, I feel that, in life, if you can discover your niche, something that you truly enjoy doing, success will inevitably follow and you have found one of the keys to happiness.
